Rotherham United are many people's favourites for the title and I join that group. One of the best sides I saw last season, only failing to make the Playoffs because of a points deduction and one of the best young managers in the country, things are looking up at the Don Valley Stadium. Rotherham were the only side to come to Sincil Bank last season to win and thoroughly deserve it. They were brilliant that day and it summed up not only why they survived their points deduction, but at one point looked like making the Playoffs. They would have made the Playoffs had the points deduction now applied.

They started last season off in decent fashion, beating Lincoln before going on a fairly decent run and catching up to the pack in no-time whatsoever. After winning their first three League games, a small wobble came in but they rarely went a long time without a win, although they were highly susceptible to the odd high scoring defeat here and there, losing 4-0 at Gillingham just a few weeks after losing 4-3 at home to Barnet. They continued on their merry way before losing four of their last seven games.

The Millers have been installed as favourites for many pundits in the division and I join those. As I said, they were the only team that won at Sincil Bank that impressed me last season, even the fact that Lincoln were crap that day couldn't change the results. It was just one of 50 wins that Mark Robins has achieved as Rotherham manager in 120 games, although I was surprised to see that he has also lost 40.

They have lost a few first team players, mainly Reuben Reid for £200,000 in a move to West Bromwich Albion. However, they have been replaced by several excellent players, including Tom Pope and Kevin Ellison, the latter being a regularly decent performer within League Two. They join a squad that has had plenty of experience in League Two.

Andy Warrington has won the division with Doncaster and despite appearing about 50 years old, is only 33 so still has some good years in him. The striker with the best agent in the division is still at Rotherham, with the Millers being the tenth club that Drewe Broughton has played for in League Two, only ever passing the double figures mark once.

Overall they have an excellent all-around squad that have already shown that they are more than up for a fight. They've come through a 17 point deduction, playing at the only stadium that makes Darlington's look full and suffered numerous financial difficulties, but I feel that the good times are about to roll for Rotherham and I am confident they will finish the season with the title.

providing they can keep Pope out of prison they have a real chance of winning it. But how much longer will they survive without a ground etc?
They need to have one in three years time or the league will throw out apparently.

Agreed, Rovrum Champs for me ..... starting with a thrashing of Acc Stan today, whose morale will be shot for our visit hopefully?
