Dany N'Guessan scored yet again as Lincoln City beat an extremely poor Port Vale side. The win doesn't move City up the table, but increases our ever so small chances of making the Playoffs, but we'll certainly have to be more careful with a run of games against top range sides coming up. Vale started the game but it was the Imps who were the first to create a chance as N'Guessan pounced on a Elding and Wright connection, only to see his effort go wide of the target after a deflection, City wasting the set piece, infact the Imps had numerous corners in the opening minutes. It was a positive start from City against a sloppy home side.

LJL almost ran through on goal before the Imps deservedly took the lead from a corner. The ball was floated in by Kerr from a corner, a Vale defender hit his own bar and N'Guessan prodded it home from close range, the Frenchman scoring yet again for the Imps. Would this be good or bad news for City though as only once since October had we scored first and gone on to win.

A rare Vale attack from a corner resulted in a counter attack, only for John-Lewis to wander into an offside position. Vale's perfect opportunity for an equaliser came as Lawrie headed goalwards, only to see his effort tipped over by Burch. Port Vale wasted the corner and it became a cagey midfield battle for several minutes. Infact the rest of the half didn't really see any real chances created, only several missed chances coming before the break for either side. The home fans booed their team off.

Infact, the second half also started slowly before Oakes was booked for a foul on Lawrie before Dodds found himself in space, only to characteristically waste the chance as he hit a weak effort straight at Burch.

N'Guessan tried Anyon's luck from distance before Wright won a corner from a losing situation with a defender. The corner was headed in by John-Lewis, but the referee disallowed it for an infringement. Adnan Ahmed, a former player under Jackson at Huddersfield and also former trialists at Sincil Bank, was booked for a foul on LJL before McCombe came on for Perry for the hosts, a decision which brought extremely loud boos from the home fans.

Patulea and Mullarkey came on for John-Lewis and Wright, Patulea getting involved quickly as he forced a corner. Glover and Dodds went off for Vale before Clarke came on for Elding for the Imps. McCombe shot straight at Burch before Lawrie headed wide in what turned out to be the final chance of the game, giving City the victory.

I bet you're over the moon with that win Nathan?
There fans were pathetic, the only time they made any noise was when Michael Hortin was doing the post match interviews.
They spent the whole game boooing, great support lads well done
I heard the Imps fans a couple of times during the game well done to all of you who went you are credit to the club
Not the bunch of hooligans humberside police think we are.
