Rochdale's manager - Keith Hill
By Nathan Jackson
August 8 2008
Keith Hill is the current manager of Rochdale. One of the youngest managers in the Football League, Hill has been a relative success at Spotland is on the verge of becoming the first manager in 35 years to lead Rochdale into a season where they weren't about to compete in the fourth tier.
Keith Hill is the current manager of Rochdale AFC and he certainly has an excellent record so far. One of the few managers in the League that are under the age of 40, he started his career with Blackburn Rovers, helping them win promotion to the Premiership, scoring 3 goals in his 96 appearances for the men from Ewood Park.

A transfer to Plymouth Argyle followed in 1992 and again, he helped them to promotion in his 123 games for the club, scoring twice along the way before transferring to Rochdale for five seasons. 176 appearances and six appearances later weren't exactly peeled with success, leaving in 2001 for Cheltenham. He again helped a club to promotion, although his impact was minimal as he made just 5 appearances for the club that won the Playoffs.

His final season saw him play 20 games for Morecambe before eventually retiring and taking up a coaching role at Rochdale.

Three seasons later and he took over the Rochdale hotseat on a caretaker basis after Steve Parkin left. He had immediate success and pushed Rochdale into the Playoff picture, they inevitably failed to qualify in his first season but they came close to automatic promotion last season, missing out and falling into the Playoffs. They reached the final before losing 3-2 to Rochdale in the final.
