Kevin Bond is the current manager of AFC Bournemouth. He was born in 1957 in West Ham before starting his footballing live as a youth player at Bournemouth. He didn't make a first team appearance in that spell for Bournemouth before moving on to Norwich City. The defender made 142 appearance for the Canaries in a seven year spell at the club, scoring twelves goals along the way.
A move to the MSL with Seattle Sounders saw a very strange stat. In 30 games for the American side, Bond scored 16 goals from defence....says it all about how crap the American League is. He spent a year in the states before returning to England with Manchester City. His scoring record was less impressive this time, scoring just eleven goals in 110 appearances for the club.
A spell at Southampton followed in the mid-80s before Bond returned to Bournemouth. He had a long spell at the Cherries, complete 126 games and four goals to his name before a short spell at Exeter City. Just 19 appearances in two seasons saw him drop into the non-League with Sittingbourne and then his final club, Dover Athletic.
Bond went into coaching at Manchester City, taking over their youth side before spells at Wrexham and Altrincham. His first managerial job lasted less than a season, leaving them to take up the role as assistant manager at Portsmouth. A brief spell at West Ham as a scout was followed by a return to Portsmouth, this time as reserve team coach.
He left Portsmouth to join Newcastle United in 2006 but he was the main subject of an investigation into fees to player's agents. He was place on gardening leave before leaving on September 26th, just under 4 months after he had been appointed.
Bond was back in employment within a few weeks, taking over at Bournemouth. He has managed the Cherries in 89 games, winning just 27.59% of those and losing near enough half (44).
