Where are you going? Bournemouth
By Nathan Jackson July 2 2008
Lincoln City will visit Bournemouth's Fitness First Stadium during the 2008/9 season. The Imps haven't played there since the 2002/3, just five weeks before the Cherries beat us at the Millennium Stadium. It's certainly one of my favourite away days.

I personally love visiting Bournemouth's Fitness First Stadium. I may have only been there once but I thoroughly enjoyed the experience due to various reasons. The atmosphere was fantastic, the view is one of the best available in the lower leagues and it's a great weekend if you get the chance.

City won on their last visit to this stadium, a first half Richard Butcher strike proving the difference between the two sides. That is our only visit to this stadium since City returned to this division several years ago.  City will definitely be out for revenge following City's 5-2 defeat at the hands of Bournemouth in the 2003 Playoff Final.

Away fans at the Fitness First Stadium are situation in two stands now. You can choose either the side stand or the South Stand behind the goal. I haven't been to the ground since the South Stand was built, but the view from the East Stand is very adequate. The best seat will allow you to be in line with roughly a third of the away along the pitch.

Bournemouth fans seemed generally friendly and created a fantastic atmosphere in the 2002/3 game. The only time they went silent was for the few minutes after the Imps scored. This is certainly a rarity in League Two and hopefully they still have that atmosphere after a 5 season absense.

Getting to the ground is easy, simply head down the A338 and simply take the turning when you see the floodlights from the ground. There is a large car park at the ground and there are no mentions of any parking charges.

I have not included train times because there's a very slim chance of anyone wanting to catch the train to Bournemouth on a Saturday morning.
