GAMES | 38 |

TOTAL MINUTES ON PITCH (average of 5 minutes of added on time a game) | 2813 |
AVERAGE MINUTES BETWEEN GOALS | 187.5 |
SHOTS IN THE SEASON | 49 |
SHOTS:GOALS RATIO | 3:1 |
Ben's first season in the red and white will certainly go down as a success. A goal every 3 shots (rounded up) is an extremely impressive record and it is easily the best shots:goals ratio this club has had in a long time. An average of a goal every 2 games (taking into account the 5 minutes of added on time in each game - 10 minutes overall to make 190 minutes) is a record that no-one in the recent past can match.
Ben's arrival in the side corresponded with the upturn in form. He has played in the vast majority of games since Schofield and Deehan left and his goals won us a vital 6 points this season. However, there have been quite a few occasions where he goals have made no impact on the result except for a bit of restored pride.
My main concern with Ben is that in those games where he hasn't scored, he doesn't actually seem to do a lot. He is very similar to Louis Dodds in that respect, both having long spells where you would barely notice they were on the pitch.
I think that 2008/9 could be a big year for Ben. He could easily surpass the 20 goal mark and will spearhead our push for promotion.

Well because the added on time isn't an exact science. There could only be a minute's worth of stoppages and yet 3 minutes are given from somewhere.
Then of course there's the chance that he could score in one of the 5 minutes of added on time. A goal in the 93rd minute is still a goal, that's why I'm using it.
