Striker : Ben Wright
By Nathan Jackson February 26 2008
Lincoln City stole the services from under the nose of Barnet. The striker was set to join the London based club before Schofield and Deehan offered him a contract first. This website was the first to point out that we were trying to sign him and it wasn't long after that he did sign for us, but it turned out that he would be far from a regular under Schofield and Deehan.

Signed From : Free Transfer

Debut : Doncaster Rovers 4 Lincoln City 1 (Carling Cup - 14/8/2007)

In City's Lincolnshire Senior Cup Final game against Scunthorpe United in the summer of 2007, John Deehan walked onto the pitch with someone unfamiliar, it turned out to be Ben Wright, a striker who had spent several years in the Norweigan leagues. It came as a shock to Barnet as he had been offered a contract by them just hours earlier following a trial.

He made his debut in the Carling Cup but it would be a further 2 months before he made his league debut for City. It seemed strange that Deehan and Schofield had been so eager to sign him, but then so reluctant to play him. He scored on his League debut and has generally had a good scoring record since.

Ben Wright was nicknamed "Violence" due his apparantly soft nature, doing his Gary Linekar impression by barely making any tackles and therefore, not getting any yellow cards.
