Lincoln City will be aiming to give Peter Jackson an ultimate get well present by securing 5 wins in a row for the first time since 1992, on that occasion City won 7 in a row. A similar run now would be a great boost and rule out virtually any fears of relegation and you never know, might even see us only a handful points off the Playoffs, dare we hope??

Whenever City have been on the verge of 5 in a row in recent years, we've never won the 5th and more often than not lost. In the last 5 seasons we've achieved runs of 7 wins in 8 once and 5 wins in 6 on several occasions, but haven't got 5 wins in a row since a 7 game winning run at the end of the 1991/2 season.

In that season City were a reasonable 15th place with 7 games to go and the Imps went to a game at Scunthorpe on the back of a run of just 1 defeat in 10 games. City won 2-0 at Glanford Park before two back to back 1-0 home wins over Carlisle and Maidstone respectively. A 5-1 win over Chesterfield was followed by a 3-0 thumping of Hereford and a 4-1 win at Halifax. City ended the season with a 2-0 win at home to Blackpool and finished the seaosn in a very respectable 10th.

City will have their work cut out for them though after Macclesfield dominated the game between the sides last week. City scored two goals against the run of play in one of the ultimate smash-and-grab performances that City have put in for a long time.

The defence will probably be the same back four that kept a clean sheet at Accrington in midweek. Meaning Marriott will have Ridley, Beevers, Hone and Green in front of him.

One player that is definitely out is Lee Frecklington, the midfield was injury in midweek and will be replaced by either Jamie Hand or Dany N'Guessan, in other words Can't Pass/Won't Pass. Unfortunately, whichever one doesn't replace Freck will replace Dodds who is suspended. Kerr and Forrester will more than likely be the other players in the midfield with Stallard and LJL up front.

Macclesfield have got 3 points from the 2 games since they played City last week, winning 1-0 at Morecambe but then losing at home yet again, this time to Grimsby.

City could potentially move up to 13th with a win, although it would have to be a HUGE win and hope that the others get thrashed. Macc could find themselves 22nd if they lose but can't move up at all if they win.
