Lincoln City were dominated by Macclesfield in the re-arranged game at Moss Rose but still managed to come away with the three points thanks to two late goals from N'Guessan and Forrester. It was a desperate performance from City who were lucky not to be 4 or 5 down by the time that N'Guessan's opener came, with only some decent goalkeeping and goal-line clearances keeping the Silkmen out.

City kicked off the game but it was the hosts who had the first chance when they won a corner, they wasted this and City launched a counter attack. This saw Dodds have a shot blocked before Forrester's effort was saved by Brain. Stallard headed another Macclesfield corner clear before Reid missed a free kick for the Silkmen.

A slow half suddenly saw Macc burst through and Gritton ran one-on-one with Marriott, the keeper producing a fine save to keep out the former Imps. Beevers cleared an Ashmore chance as City were looking very shaky indeed.

Marriott claimed a Dunfield corner before Symes shot over after 25 minutes. Forrester shot well over following a City corner before Gritton fouled Forrester. Gritton was injured by his own challenge however and was replaced by Green.

Wright saw a header cleared away by brain before Stallard failed to get the ball under control before shootting wide. Green broke through the City defence thanks to a clever through-ball, however Marriott produced an excellent save and some last ditch defending cleared the ball.

Symes headed over a Dunfield corner before Dodds fired over for City. Then Macc had a golden opportunity to take the lead when Green gave Reid the ball 6 yards out, but Ridley stopped the ball crossing the line for a seemingly guaranteed goal.

Green could have opened the scoring almost immediately from the restart of the second half but shot straight at Marriott before Dodds wasted a one-on-one team. Dodds wasted another chance before Symes volleyed wide from a corner. N'Guessan came on for Wright before Dodds hit a free kick over the bar.

Marriott produced another good save when he tipped over Symes' header from close range. Hessey was booked for the hosts before an excellent Hone challenge saw him deny Green a run on goal. N'Guessan was booked for a foul on Reid before Hones joined him in the book for a foul on Symes.

Hone robbed Symes of the ball and played Dany N'Guessan through and the Frenchman produced a cool finish to give City an undeserved lead. Tolley came on for Ashmore before Symes had a shot his behind. Hone headed another chance clear before a good run from Forrester saw him run across the defence and shoot past Brain on the brink of full time to secure a win for City.

Evans did pull one back for Macc just before the end but couldn't prevent the Imps from moving up to 18th in the League.
