City have golden opportunity at MK Dons.

Following the results on Friday and Saturday, City know that just avoiding defeat will see the Imps move out of the relegation zone, and a win moving us up 4 places, but it won't be that easy. MK Dons are top of the table following a good start to the season and go into the game as heavy favourites, especially given City's recent atrocious record on Sky Sports, losing 6 of the last 8 live games.

City's poor record recently on Sky started with the defeat against Southend in the Playoff final, followed by defeats in both of the semis against Grimsby the following year. A draw at MK Dons last season was followed by City beating top-of-the-table Walsall, before then losing to Swindon and both legs against Bristol Rovers. It's certainly a record that City will hope improves against the Dons.

Results so far this weekend have definitely gone City's way, with Grimsby, Notts County and Wrexham all losing and Bradford only drawing. If City win then we will overtake all 4 of them, even a draw is enough to overhaul Wrexham and push them into the relegation zone.

City's starting line up will probably be the same that has started the last two games that sees the Imps unbeaten in 2 in the League (woohoo). That would mean the starting line up would be Marriott, Amoo, Beevers, Bencherif, Green, Frecklington , Hand, Kerr, Dodds, Torpey and Ryan. However, after Mark Stallard's impressive performance against Hartlepool during the week he is a popular choice amongst the fans to start.....meaning that he won't.

MK Dons have made a fairly decent start to the season, and currently sit at the top of the table, losing just twice has certainly helped with that and they are currently on a run of 7 wins in a row has certainly helped.

Their squad is full of talented players......and Jude Stirling, who just so happens to be the only former City player in their team, although City did formally target Drewe Broughton, who is currently doing well in his attempt to play for every single team in this division before he retires.

With the best squad in the division, City will certainly have to be at their best to get anything from the game. The players with a good reputation are plentiful at MK Dons, with Kevin Gallen, Leon Knight, Dean Lewington, Keith Andrews, Lloyd Dyer, Aaron Wilbraham and Jemal Johnson all able to walk into any side in League One or Two.
