City have to work hard for Boston victory
By Nathan Jackson July 28 2007
Lincoln City had to work extremely hard for their victory at Boston United after being second best for the vast majority of the game, a Nat Brown goal being the difference between the 2 sides. It was one of only a small handful of chances for the Imps as an impressive Pilgrims side gave the Imps the run around for most of the game and looked like a side who will do well at their level.

City started the game nervously and Boston were carving out all the chances. Whenever City did get forward they were thwarted by Paul Ellender, a defender who had our entire attack in his back pocket by the evidence of today. Boston were wasting many chances that were given to them by the linesman not being up with play and not ruling several Boston players offside when they were constantly behind our defence when recieving the ball.

The game was a dull affair but changed once the youth team and reserves came on for the Imps and City were suddenly coming into the game, grabbing a winner when Nat Brown headed in a Ryan Amoo corner. That was near enough the only decent Imps shot on target and the game ended 1-0.

City only have one friendly left and that is next Sunday against Watford. City go into that game on the back of winning 6 out of the 7 pre-season games so far.
