Young Imps make it 5 in a row
By Nathan Jackson July 26 2007
Lincoln City's youth side secured the Imps' 5th straight win in the friendlies thanks to a very scrappy win over Sleaford Town. City took the lead in the first half before going behind, but securing the win late on. Alan Marriott was in goal but it was otherwise youthful City squad that wasted several chances secure a huge win.

City's first and Sleaford's goals came in almost indentical circumstances, both coming from close range efforts from corners. City's winner came from a very quick counter attack with a good finish proving the winner.

City only have two friendlies left in pre-season, a trip to Boston on Saturday followed by a game against Watford next Sunday. Inbetween comes the Lincolnshire Senior Cup game against Scunthorpe next Wednesday.

Then it's to the real business on the 11th with the first game of the season against Shrewsbury.
