Imps leave it late to beat the French
By Nathan Jackson July 22 2007
Lincoln City's first team continued their 100% winning record to the pre-season with a very late come back in France to beat Genets d'Anglet FC, Lee Frecklington securing the win in injury time. City were behind for the majority of the match thanks to an Ayden Duffy mistake in the first half but Jamie Forrester's equaliser in the 88th minute and Freck's winner makes it 3 in a row for City.

Ayden Duffy flapped at a cross for Anglet's goal. The strong Imps side produced a late comeback to win the game to follow on from the victories over Lincoln United and Grantham Town. It means that overall the club have only lost once during pre-season and that was the youth team's outing at Retford, meaning that the first team are yet to be defeated.

City's lineup included a few trialists, most of whom are expected to sign with the Imps upon their return midweek. Most of the team was regular first teamers though with Amoo, Green, Beevers, Brown, Frecklington, Kerr, N'Guessan, Forrester and Stallard all starting the game.

City have another busy week in friendlies this week, finishing off the tour with a game at Pau FC. A side likely to contain only youth and reserves players will travel to Sleaford on Thursday before a strong line-up will fancy getting City's first win at Boston United since February 2005 on Saturday.
