Where do you think you're going? : Brentford
By Nathan Jackson May 29 2007
City went to Brentford last season on the back of a very bad run, Peter Jackson was appointed just days later but I was pleasently surprised how much I personally enjoyed the trip to Griffin Park. It's not the best view from the away end, but there is still plenty of reasons for this to be an enjoyable day.

Last season was the first time for a long time that City have travelled to Griffin Park for a League game. It didn't go well as the Imps lost 1-0, but overall it was a decent day inside Griffin Park and that quite surprised me.

The away end for the 2008/9 will again be the seating behind one of the goals. Although this offers a great view of the other end of the pitch, you'll struggle to see the goalline at your end unless you see down the front. This causes it to be a bit difficult on occasions to judge if the ball has crossed the line or not. Infact, it can fool you into thinking that shots that are going miles over have gone in.

Brentford's atmosphere isn't spectacular. They do make a bit of noise every now and then, but not on a regular basis. This leads to a bit of a poor atmosphere all around the ground and it's hard to create noise from the away end.

Brentford's Griffin Park

To get to Griffin Park takes you a similar way to the one we took to Fulham the other year, a route that took us within 200 metres of Griffin Park. Leave the M4 at junction 2 and take the A4, going around the Chiswick Roundabout so that you end up coming back on yourself. Continue along the A4 and at the first roundabout take a left onto Ealing Road. The road is on your right and it is all street parking.

Please note that street parking is at a premium and I'd seriously recommend that you get there early enough to find a decent parking spot.

For all those that like a drink, you will be extremely pleased as there is a pub on each corner of the ground. For away fans the most recommended pub is the New Inn, whereas the Griffin is described as the best general pub available. One of the pubs nearby was one of the filming locations for the film "Green Street"

Trains to Brentford are  surprisingly plentiful with 6 getting there before kick off. All trains require you to get either Retford, Doncaster, Newark Castle, Newark North Gate or Peterborough (depends on what time you leave) and then getting to Kings Cross from there.

From there again you have to get on a different destination train depending on
