Tranmere Rovers manager Les Parry has cited Yeovil's tactics for the far from attractive game of football at Prenton Park on Saturday. 

The Glovers came away with a 1-0 win thanks to a opportunists strike from on loan striker Oli Johnson, who capitalised on the open goal to lob home from all of 30 yards. 

At the final whistle the home side were met with a chorus of boos, and speaking to the Liverpool Daily Post Tranmere manager Les Parry revealed he felt the scrappy game wasn't his sides fault:

"I know the crowd were not happy but it was never going to be an attractive game because of the way Yeovil approached it. There was very little we could do about that. Yeovil came to close the game down, packed the defence and hit us on the break and it worked. That’s not a criticism. They did a job on us. You’ve got to try and grind results out of these situations and if we had to take a 0-0 then so be it."

And speaking of the goal itself, Parry laid no blame on his goalkeeper or defender, simply recognising the quality finish:

"To concede a goal like that was devastating. You can’t take anything away from the lad (Oli Johnson), it was a great finish. Michael (Kay) did not put it on a plate for him."
