Yeovil Town produced their poorest display of the season, slumping to a comfortable 2-0 defeat, at home to Hartlepool United.

The Glovers welcomed back Dean Bowditch, after he missed the previous game due to bruised kidneys.

Meanwhile, Rob Kiernan started in place of the suspended JP Kalala, in front of a poor crowd of 3,537.

Yeovil began the better of the two sides, with Dean Bowditch looking lively up front, whilst Sam Williams held up the ball expertly.

But it was Hartlepool who got the first shot on goal, when Adam Virgo's foul on James Brown was nearly punished when Evan Horwood curled the free-kickl just wide.

dean Bowditch had a header fall wide, but Adam Boyd went closest when his shot was cleared off the line by the long legs of Paul Huntington.

As the half wore on, Yeovil became over ran by the swift passing movement of the Monkey Hangers.

Without JP Kalala in midfield, the Glovers lacked any bite in midfield, allowing Hartlepool to have easy possession in midfield.

John Sullivan enhanced his reputation saving well from Paul Murray.

Hartlepool grabbed a deserved goal, when a corner resulted in Gary Liddle heading in, continuing the poor marking from set pieces. 0-1.

Terry Skiverton reverted to a 4-5-1 formation, well for ten minutes, as he looked to get more support to Sam Williams.

With the introduction of Andy Welsh for the disappointing Luke Freeman, the change looked promising, with the Glovers pressing more.

However, Sam Williams was isolated up front, and the dangerous Dean Bowditch was switched to the right wing making him ineffective.

Hartlepool grabbed a deserved second goal, when a long ball wasn't cleared properly and Andy Monkhouse slammed home a superb 20 yard drive to double their lead. 0-2.

Assistant manager Nathan Jones was withdrawn to a chorus of boos, contrasting with the cheers that met Nathan Smith as he entered the field.

Skiverton then reverted back to the original 4-4-2 formation, which immediately paid off for Dean Bowditch who found space only to see his goal bound shot be diverted for a corner, just.  

Yeovil huffed and puffed for the final ten minutes but failed to make any impact, with Hartlepool happy to see out a 2-0 win.

Overall, Terry Skiverton will be disappointed with the individual performances of several players, and without the combative Kalala, the teenage centre of midfield defined the cliche of 'men v. boys', chasing shadows for large parts of the game.
