Lee and his troops headed for Pelsall Villa tonight (August 5th 2002) for one final warm-up match before Ipswich Town visit the Bescot on Saturday, and a strong side is expected to be fielded at the Old Bush.

The gaffer hopes that he can push through at least one more deal this week, with Brazillian trialist 'Junior' Juaio and ex-Fulham stopper Marcus Hahnemann favourites to join the Saddlers.

Speaking to the Express & Star about Juaio, Lee said: "We have got an opportunity of maybe - just maybe - doing something with him. He is now back in Brazil and any discussions will take place with his agent over the phone."

Colin is hopefull that he can fill the void left by the departure of Lee Harper before the season starts.

He said: "Running with one goal keeper is a risky business so I am hoping to resolve the situation next week."

The boss also revealed that the un-named trialist that featured against Malawi on Friday was the ex-Wigan star Roberto Martinez, who is currently fighting a legal battle with Scottish side Motherwell.

"He is friend of Pedro Matias. I thought it would be worth while taking a look at him. But he has got to be good enough or there is no point in taking anything any further," admitted Lee.

One player who did arrive at the Bescot today was Dean Keates. However, Keates is just training with us whilst he continues his search for a new club.

Keates, 24, has considered retiring after finding a new club tough going. Keates rejected a short term deal earlier this summer, but a trial at Port Vale came to nothing.
