The club have taken action against Vinny Samways, for being in breach of his contract, while the mystery surrounding Gary Wales deepens. Paul Ritchie, however, is the subject of good news.

The club have announced that they have suspended Vinny Samways without pay, following his failure to return to Walsall either for training, or for a medical examination. Read more on Vinny

Gary Wales' recent from absence from the squad  has been partly explained by Colin Lee telling the Express & Star that there is a problem with Hearts.

The assumption must be that they are trying to do something about the agreement that they would pay a large proportion of his wages while he was on loan to us.

Finally, despite their abject defeat to Wales in their last International, Paul Ritchie has been given another chance by being called up for the next Scotland squad.

Ritchie had a tough time against the Welsh, but will be looking to bounce back and prove to Berti Vogts that he can play a role in their World Cup 2006 qualifiying campaigh. Congratulations, Paul!
