Bescot Stadium Mystery

By Neil Ravenscroft
August 29 2003

There was a break in at Bescot Stadium on Wednesday. However, unfortunately, this isn't the start of a bad joke about Trophy rooms. The club have announced that they are giving a reward for information leading to the prosecution of some thieves who broke into the ground on Wednesday and stole several items, such as watches and credit cards, belonging to players. There is no sign of a forced entry, however, so the assumption is that the culprits knew their way around the stadium.

The club also say that they have instigated increased security measures at the ground, in an attempt to make sure this cannot happen again.

The words "horse", "bolted" and "stable door" spring to mind.

This is not the kind of incident to make the club attractive to prospective signings, so, if you do have any information, contact the club or the police.
