We have movement! And once we sign a keeper and a left-back, we'll have a completely new defence for the coming season! And that can only be a good thing.... Proof that the Coventry City manager reads this website, it seems he has taken on board my opinion that our defence was weak last season! (I don't think anybody else noticed....).

The highly rated Elliott Ward has signed for £1 million from West Ham, with a fair few of their supporters seemingly rating him very highly, and sad to see him go. Surely an improvement on Richard shaw....?

Also in is Mikkel Bischoff, a top quality, pacy defender, who has suffered injury problems over the last few seasons. According to those that know, if he stays fit, we should be contenders.

Another of my suggestions, Marion Pahars, is also said to be interesting the club. Presuming his injuries haven't taken to much out of him over the last few seasons, Pahars is the sort of player that would rip apart most Championship defences, though would have to come on a 'pay-as-you-play deal'.

The chance to once again earn the tag 'The Great Entertainers' in front of a TV audience is given to Coventry City, with their first two home matches being switched for Sky TV: Sunderland, now Sunday August 6th; and Leicester, now Friday August 18th. Coventry City are also drawn away to Hereford in the League Cup.

With the fixtures now released, one of those compulsory, non-news news items is released, with the club stating they are looking to make a 'flying start to the season'.

Yet another Coventry City initiative sees the club doing away with telesales, and asking supporters to ask friends and family to buy a season ticket - radical! Why did nobody think of this before?

Ady Williams, Andy Morrell and Claus Jorgensen were all due to return for pre-season training, having failed to find new clubs so far. Morrell is said to be interesting Nottm Forest, and he is interested in joining them, but so far, nothing doing.

One of the reasons Coventry City (And so many other clubs) have been in the mire for so long was because of the collapse of ITV Digital. The claim of professional negligence against the lawyers who advised the Football League saw the award of just £4, rather than the hoped for £150 million, so it looks as if we won't be buying another player with any dispensing of compensation from that particular court action.
