The latest Arena rumours, a lack of transfer news, pre-season defeats, a potential new investor and .... not a lot more! The new season might be just around the corner, but the usual "buzz" is yet to happen....
OK, I lied about the investor, but I needed to write something to keep your interest. I needed to write something to keep mine....
9. There's no need to re-think size of trophy room at the Arena, as Coventry City lose the Copa de Ibiza Cup Final. A 2-0 lead becomes a 3-2 defeat, as the new-look Coventry City show some of the old failings. There are whispers that Coventry City "lost" the match to avoid further trouble on the terraces, as numpty QPR fans cause trouble.
8. One Coventry City youngster is apparently singled out for abuse from his own supporters - depending on whose version of events you believe. Having seen said player play once or twice, he might just be good enough to make the grade, if people don't shatter his confidence before his career has even properly started....
7. Gary McSheffrey scores twice in two games on the tour (Plus one perfectly good goal, for some reason disallowed), yet you can guarantee some supposed Coventry City fan will criticise him for not having a record that puts Theirry Henry or Michael Owen to shame. New season, same dull, dull criticisms....
6. QPR turn down Coventry City's request to switch the Arena's opening fixture to Sunday 21st August, and there are rumours that the first match at Coventry City's "new home" will be a reduced capacity match, with no away supporters - a wise choice, as there will no doubt we one or two Coventry City fans seeking "revenge".
5. With Manchester United supposedly agreeing a deal worth £2.5 million for Stoke City's third choice keeper, rumour has it Micky Adams sent a fax to Alex Ferguson informing him of available Coventry City players - just about all of them, for that sort of money....
4. Coventry City lose the first match of their Ireland tour, going down 1-0 to Athlone Town. Don't panic, pre-season matches mean nothing, gaining fitness, etc....
3. An extra pre-season match, away to Walsall, is added to the list (July 26th). Another one I won't be able to make due to work commitments....
2. Coventry City are linked with a season long loan for Middlesboro crock Malcolm Christie (Yes please!), with Sunderland keeper Mart Poom also said to be on trial with the club (Yes please, but can't see it myself....).
1. Football memorobilia still for sale!! CCFC Bay . More to be added if and when anybody shows an interest in the stuff already listed....
