Rather than count from 1 to 9, in an effort to make the weeks news far more exciting, I will now be counting down from 9 to 1 - a la Top Of The Pops! That you people don't have to pay for this quality service is an injustice.... 9. `Cov Kid II' Craig Pead leaves Coventry City to join Walsall. CP doesn't say as he signs up: "the possibility of linking up with Julian Joachim was just to irresistable to turn down....".
8. Daniel Nardiello is released by Manchester United, and immediately linked with Coventry City - by the supporters at least.... 7. Having (Thankfully) kept it shut for a number of months, Mike McGinnity finally shows he is still around, and speaks of a return to the Premiership for Coventry City. He also promises to back Mickey Adams - which after what he said about Eric Black before ditching him probably doesn't count for a lot 6. Mark Crossley is rumoured to be on his way to Coventry City, with his one decent display last season (Against Newcastle, where he stopped at least two shots with his face), getting some Coventry City fans over-excited at the prospect. My memories of him are more: two good games a season, both against Coventry City. 5. Stephen Hughes is absolutely, 101%, totally definitely, staying with Coventry City - no question of him going elsewhere at all. Probably. Richard Shaw, on the other hand, isn't. Probably. He's seemingly awaiting an offer from Surrey FC. 4. Dele Adebola will sign on the dotted line when he gets back from his holiday - presuming he doesn't bump into anybody from Chelsea at the airport when he arrives back in the UK.... 3. Mickey Adams has finally signed his two-and-a-half year contract - having worked the half year already! There is absolutely no truth in the rumour MA signed up after the end of season awards, having been plied with drink all night.... 2. Richard Duffy, the classiest of all Coventry City loan signings last time around (And, with the possible exception of (The possibly available!) Stephen Warnock, possibly ever!), should be joining us on a season long loan - at whichever ground Coventry City play at next season. 1. Rumour of the week has to be that the new Arena is sinking! Most people seem to have dismissed this as BS, but, with the new ground being built so close to Keresley coal mine....!!. More nail-biting, potential `Eastenders' script, stuff next week! And if there isn't, I'll start making things up....
