Coventry City have sacked manager Andy Thorn, a mere four games into the season, or nine to twelve months too late, depending on your opinion.

The side are currently unbeaten over those matches, though the performances have been unacceptable, and there has been little evidence that this season won't be a continuation of the dismal last season that took us down to Division 3.

The only noticeable change so far was that Thorn finally seemed to see the same match as the supporters, claiming yesterday's display versus Bury was 'rubbish', with the unacceptable/totally garbage second half display seemingly being the final nail in his managerial coffin.

The first job for any new manager, expected to be one of Richard Shaw or Lee Carsley (Also known as the 'cheap option'), is to sort out the fitness levels of the players, who have seemed unable to perform for 90+ minutes far to frequently since Thorn took over.

The second thing that will need sorting out is which formation suits the players at our disposable, with AT's chosen 'diamond formation' quite clearly having failed for just over a season now.

Expect half-a-dozen 'we've let the manager down' comments - and possibly a 'that was for Andy Thorn' should the team overcome Birminghan City in the Cup on Tuesday - to be aired with in the next day or two....
