A quality first victory of the season for Coventry City, thanks in part to a dodgy penalty, in a match that saw unsavoury scenes in front of the Sky TV cameras.

There were once again impressive displays from youngsters Christie and Bigirmimana, while Jutkiewicz showed exactly why any attempts by other clubs to take him on loan should be greeted with an expletive or two. Cranie was calmness personified in defence, while Keogh alongside him also impressed. 

Derby did manage to get through the Coventry defence a few times, but were thankfully stopped by some quality tackles, and one superb stop from Murphy, who was replaced at half-time. His replacement, Dunn, made a superb save only minutes after entering the field of play too. 

Jutkiewicz's calmly taken penalty gave the home side the lead after 58 minutes, while Carl Baker finally scored another league goal for the club after 78 minutes. Jutkiewicz also missed one chance in open play, having one effort cleared off the line. 

McDonald was given a few chances to be a hero on his debut, but too often opted to stand behind his marker, rather than nip in front of him. Once match-fit, he looks as though he will link well with Jutkiewicz, and will benefit from Christie's crossing ability. 

As for the protests, heavy-handed stewarding and policing will have done nothing to endear SISU to supporters, whereas a team showing signs of life might have.
