Nuneaton gained local bragging rights over Coventry City after winning their pre-season fixture 1-0, thanks to a Kyle Perry goal on 55 minutes.
Coventry City's display was fairly dismal, and has a fair few of those supporters that went already worried for the season. While expressing his disappointment at the results, Andy Thorn did still trot out the 'it's all about the fitness' line. As he's started using that line nice and early, it will be interesting to see how often the team tire early again throughout the coming season!
Andy Thorn, who for once wasn't dressing up the ineptness, stated that none of those that played will be getting in the first team - a bad sign for trialists Bruno Cazarine (Who was withdrawn after 56 minutes, despite AT stating he would play for the entire 90 minutes) and Ndriqm Halilli especially, as they were looking to earn contracts with the club....
Cody McDonald almost snatched an equaliser for the away side, but his 86th minute effort hit the post of former Coventry City keeper Neil Collett.
TEAM: Dunn, Pegg, Hussey, Brown (Henderson 77), Edjenguele, Deegan, Garner, Halilli, Carazine (Wiseman 56), Jeffers (Roberts 46), Ball (McDonald 46). SNU: Burge, Tariq Morr-Azil.
