Following the recent love-in that was the 'Andy Thorn Should Be The Next Manager' from most of the Coventry City squad (Including a fair few that won't even be here under his leadership next season), unsurprisingly, AT has been appointed manager, on a one-year rolling contract - a wise move by SISU, as most managers don't last any longer than that anyway.
The love-in included: Thorn praises Harrison; Bell praises Thorn; Jutkiewicz adds support from Thorn and Harrison; Clingan wants Thorn to get managers job; Bobby Gould backs Thorn as manager; Baker gives Thorn his backing; Thorn gives Hussey confidence; Thorn hails backroom staff; and a whole lot more! (Including Westwood and King offering their backing).
Err..totally disagree Covkid53...This is by far the best appointment under the current circumstances.
Remember throwing big money & long contracts at "big name" managers:
Reid, Adams, Dowie, Coleman, Boothroyd.....all complete & utter disasters.
As for the 3 examples you've listed....butcher was shocking, but the wee mad ginger one did have some success before he lost the plot & Eric Blacks short tenure was about the only glimmer of hope I've seen in the last decade.
Good luck AT. Don't let the b@st@rds grind you down!
