As it says on the tin, '15 Questions', answered by a supporter of todays opponents....
1. Who is your hottest prospect/best player (Possible answer is the same for both!).
Our hottest prospect was young striker Jordan Rhodes who was lethal in front of goal. However, Keane said something along the lines of Rhodes being scared of him...so he sold him. Young Dutch defender Pim Balkestein is a player to watch out for in the future while our current fans favoruite is probably Richard Wright who won player of the season in the last campaign.
2. Is there a boo-boy in your squad? (Somebody who just cannot win the fans over).
Keane seems to have done well to clear out the boo-boys and such. It was probably Kevin Lisbie last season - his only good performance coming at the Ricoh against you last Winter when I believe he got a brace! He's now on loan at Colchester though for the season so until the season gets underway it's ahrd to say who will replace him.
3. Who is the most likely player in your side to be sent off?!
Alex Bruce without a doubt. Loves to get his nut in and put a stinging tackle in.
4. Your new signings, are they an improvement on the players you've released/sold?
100%. Keane has released 13 players this summer and offloaded all the mediocre players who Magilton seemed to accept. Martin looks a real threat going forward, Priskin is known as a quality finisher while Irish boys - Colin Healy and Damien Delaney are yet to prove themselves in pre-season.
5. If money was no object, which three players from the Premiership would you sign for your club?
I'd probably look for a player in each outfield position....
Defence - Vidic
Midfield - Robinho
Attack - Roque Santa Cruz, an odd one but a player I really rate.
6. What is your score prediction for your match against Coventry?
Cov 0-2 Town
7. Where will your side finish come the end of the season?
Without sounding overly confident, a top 10 finish seems inevitable. Keane won't be able to live with himself if we don't make the play-offs by the sound of his interviews so I think I have good reason to expect, say, 5th!
8. Who will win the Carling Cup this season?
Hmmmm. Could be anyone really. I can see it being a mid-table prem side who don't care about the league much - Sunderland.
9. Is your manager the right man for the job? (If 'yes', why? If 'no', why not?!).
Yes - definitely. The whole town of Ipswich is buzzing with excitement ahead of the new season. Keane has a very good, if short, track record. He's ruthless and isn't afraid of what anyone thinks of him or his team, as long as they get promoted. He has one aim for this season. Promotion. With Magilton, that was more of a hopeful wish.
10. And what is your opinion of your chairman (Woman) and your board?
New Chairman, Simon Clegg, used to be CEO for the Olympic Team or something. Although I don't pay much attention to his background! He seems sound and doesn't mess around with the fans so far. He puts himself across well and comfortable and looks like the perfect man to support Keane and Ipswich in their attempt to get promoted.
11. How many academy/youth team players played regularly in your first team last season?
Magilton was criticised for not having enough faith in our youngsters despite Ipswich being famously known for producing some of the country's best young players from Keiron Dyer to Darren Bent. As mentioned above, Jordan Rhodes got a few games while 15-year-old lanky striker, Connor Wickham got in the squad for our game at the Ricoh last year. Magilton chose last year to turn to experience though and loan our youngsters out. Who knows if that was the right decision.
12. Who was the last great product from your academy/youth team? And where is he now? (Presuming he's not still at the club).
Darren Bent - was prolific for us before doing well at Charlton. His now well documented "Twitter" move from Spurs to Sunderland could see his career re-vitalised. Fans don't seem so impressed byhim these days.
13. Who is your biggest hate figure in football? (Not necessarily still playing!).
Good question. I hate a lot of Arsenal squad - Van Persie, Gallas, Adebayor(now gone), Toure. Joey Barton is an obvious one while I dislike a lot of club Chairmen for the way they've destroyed clubs - Rupert Lowe at Southampton and Mike Ashley at Newcastle are probably prime examples.
14. Do you rate any of Coventry City's players?
I did last season. The two Danns. Scott and Fox were very impressive. Westwood is supposed to be good between the sticks but he didn't impress me in the two games we played against you last season. Sammy Clingan did well for Norwich and could well do the same for you if you get him working with the right attitude while Michael McIndoe was chased by a lot of clubs this summer so you did well to sign him this summer. Overall though, I probably wouldn't immediatly think of any Cov players that I'd want Keane to sign.
15. What is your opinion of Coventry City? (Presuming you have one!).
They used to be amazing on FIFA 2000. I managed them for about 16 seasons! They're a friendly club with some good players to go down in their history books. Since slipping from the Prem they've gone to mid-table mediocrity. You could find yourselves flirting with the relegation spots this season. I think you need to have some big change at the club if you're ever going to challenge for promotion. You need a few big names on the pitch or a new manager to inject a bit of enthusiasm into the club. Because in my eyes, Coventry has been quite samey for a while now and they've never ventured out of their mid-table comfort zone. The club needs inspiration. Oh, and I watched our 2-2 draw at the Ricoh last season and it was by far the quietest ground I've been to. I'd say that's the stadium designers fault more than the fans though. Parked in a pub the other side of the roundabout and some cheeky Sky Blues fan tried to make me pay double!
