Hamilton 0 Vs. 1 Airdrie in the Ramsden Cup

Airdrie progress in the Ramsdens Challenge cup after Super Sub Willie McLaren scores in the closing stages of our first competitive fixture of the 2012-2013 season.

I am going to get slated for my next comments but I feel we were taught a lesson today and if Hamilton had more to offer up front we may have been on the receiving end of a gubbing. For long periods of the game Hamilton controlled the match with nice possession football, we soaked up their pressure and gave them very few goal scoring opportunities. Airdrie using route one football won the match that look destined to end in a nil nil draw.
Destined to end nil nil….? Well maybe not when the Hamilton fans started ripping in to Willie McLaren during his warm up I’m sure more than one Airdrie fan suggested he would come on and score against them, if it was one of our ex-players coming on against us we know they would have scored.
In the end we scored a goal more than Hamilton so progress with a 100 percent record this season, one win, one shut out and progression in to the next round is more than most predicted of today’s match.

The Prediction League

With the prediction league bouncing up to 33 entrants pre-match, it strange three non-competitive players should sit in the top of the prediction league and one even leading. Well for the purposes of winning Cammy MacDonalds shirt they are being ignored. With this in mind the top of the table looks like this.
