The currently lethal Pedro was amongst the goals again, as the Premiership leaders comfortably brushed aside Brentford in this west London derby. Branislav Ivanovic also fired home what looks set to be his last goal for Chelsea, as he seems likely to move on to pastures new in the next couple of days, after a distinguished career at Stamford Bridge. Willian had earlier opened the goals feast with a sumptuous direct free kick, reminiscent of a few from last season whilst Batshuayi closed the proceedings with a well-taken penalty.

Four goals in each of the first two cup matches is healthy progress, but presumably Chelsea will run into more formidable opposition sooner or later. At least when they do, they will have three record-chasing players in their ranks. Peter Osgood scored in every round of Chelsea's successful cup journey of 1970, and so far Batshuayi, Pedro, and Willian have done likewise. Can they take their goalscoring heroics into the fifth round as well? Hopefully, at least one of them can.

Meanwhile back at the ranch, the hosts must pay a visit to our nice friends from Liverpoo on Tuesday night. Liverdisease have suffered an almighty January slump which has seen the wheels come off their promising season. However, I suspect that they will be an altogether different beast when Chelsea arrive at Shamfield. The Londoners haven't had a drawn match since mid-September. I suspect that the league leaders are long overdue one!
