So Antonio Conte has finally re-jigged his stuttering defensive formation, and lo and behold stroppy Courtois and chums help themselves to a rare clean sheet. I prefer to measure Chelsea's progress (or lack of it) against the likes of Arsenic and Liverfools, but you can only beat what is put in front of you. Hull were no match for Chelsea once we hit our stride in the second half, but how many teams would let us off the hook for a mediocre first half performance? I can think of two that certainly didn't. Anyhow, we have arrested our decline (for the time being), but greater challenges lie ahead. Clearly dumping the sluggish Ivanovic was vindicated. Hopefully Conte will shortly be easing Cahill and Matic off stage too.
Anyway, full credit to red hot Diego Costa for maintaining his impressive early season goal scoring form. I still think he will be absent once too often through injury and suspension, but let's enjoy him while we can.
