I suppose that they had to beat us some time, and so it has eventually come to pass. We were woeful, making them look good.

If Mr Conte insists on playing the same old flops each week, then the same results can be expected. It's a real shame that our new supremo doesn't pour through videos of last season's stellar performances, as he might find them enlightening. Instead, the latest interim one will delude himself that he can repair the damaged goods. It will probably take a few more setbacks before the penny finally drops, and Antonio belatedly brings in a few fresh faces. Hopefully, young Chalobah will be upgraded to first team action. We cannot keep going back to the old folks' home and plucking Mikel and Terry out of there to bail us out. It's 2016, Chelsea, and not 2009. We really must build a team for the future and stop trying to recreate yesterday's glories with yesterday's men. You don't find Barcelona and Real Madrid keeping the exact same personnel from one season to the next, and let's face it, they know a thing or two about success. Chelsea FC could do worse than learn from their European rivals. Otherwise, we will be sitting out European football for more than just one year.
