Hazard scores!

Reminiscent of autumn 1992 when Dave Beasant gifted the Kopites a late equaliser, so again Chelsea rolled back the years and donated the hosts a last-minute reprieve. Although the stoppage-time goal was hard to bear, Liverpoo had contributed much to the contest.

Mind you, Chelsea had grown in confidence in the second half and yet again old man Hiddink was left bemoaning the fact that we had surrendered the lead and not put a match to bed when we were in the ascendancy. Clearly our fragility at defending and goalkeeping renders it extremely difficult to keep a clean sheet. However, just when the makeshift pairing of stand-in captain Cahill and stand-in defender Mikel were about to congratulate themselves on a job well done, along pops Christian Benteke to rob us of maximum points, after less than convincing goalkeeping from another stand-in, Mr Begovic.

The result was a bit cruel on the flying Hazard who didn't deserve to merely be on a drawing side. His goal was especially memorable, following a mazy run and accurate finish. His form is now such that he is probably unique amongst the Chelsea squad in being one who doesn't want the season to end. Then again, Belgium will be fully expecting him to take his red-hot form into the European Championship finals.

Elsewhere, Pedro beame the latest in a tediously growing list of Chelsea numpties sporting a face mask. These masks are not exactly paying dividends, and nothing could mask another average performance from this Spanish disappointment.

All that remains now is to pay homage to the visiting champions of Leicester on Sunday afternoon. Can Hiddink supervise an elusive home league match that produces a clean sheet, unseen at Stamford Bridge since Mourinho was frowning and grimacing his way through the proceedings? I seriously doubt it somehow.
