Deflated Spurs!

Eden Hazard, who couldn't buy a goal for much of the season, ended up scoring the goal that applied the killer blow to Tottenham's flimsy chances of Premiership glory, whilst ensuring that Leicester achieved their historic milestone of a first-ever success at becoming English football champions. Hazard certainly contributed greatly to the Foxes' cause. First he virtually walked off the pitch in the meeting at Leicester on that ill-fated Monday night back In December, and then he emerged like a phoenix from the ashes to sabotage Tottenham's hopes of recording their first win at Stamford Bridge since 1990.

In the end, Tottenham had to make do with a share of the points. In the normal scheme of things, a draw at Chelsea would ordinarily be hailed as a fine result, but for the visitors this was a must-win. To add to their misery, they actually put themselves in prime position to pull off a rare Premiership win against Chelsea, courtesy of two well-worked goals shortly before the interval. This drastic state of affairs obliged old man Hiddink to summon Hazard from the bench, and fortunately the Belgian maestro rose to the challenge. The hosts certainly needed to score the third goal of the match to offer themselves any chance. This they managed just short of the hour mark when Cahill thumped home from close range, following a Willian corner that the Premiership wannabes couldn't clear. One sobering thought from this accurate effort is that Cahill now has as many goals as Falcao and Remy put together - which speaks volumes for Chelsea's centre forward cover.

All that was left was for Hazard to finish off a move that he started when he took a return pass from Costa to brilliantly slot into the far corner eight minutes from normal time. Mind you, the away team were granted a six-minute stay of execution and the opportunity to chase down a possible winner. In the end, their efforts were in vain. The home crowd celebrated like they had won the cup, but their jubilation at foiling the neighbours was nothing compared to the earthquake in Leicester, where the locals embarked upon the biggest party that the east Midlands has ever known. They deserve every drunken minute of it!
