For the second successive weekend, the champions of England produced an emphatic five goals to one bonanza, even missing yet another penalty in the midst of the second half goals avalanche. The reward for the team's efforts is a tricky sixth round assignment away to Evercrap. We always seem to draw them Scouse muppets away from home. That has to be at least the third time we have been obliged to visit Badison Park by an FA Cup draw in the last ten years plus at least one league cup visit there too a few years back.
Meanwhile, Manchester Wannabes' old manager did his club few favours by fielding an under-strength team, but who are we to complain? I'd be quite happy if Evershit were as obliging in a few weeks' time, but I suspect that our FA Cup honeymoon will be over then and we will actually have to contend against a strong team from the Premiership. To coin a phrase, we will have met our match on that occasion. As for Manchester Wannabes, well I do loathe the media talk about playing "kids". Look, they're not kids. They're all grown men, admittedly very fresh-faced and raw, but stop this crap about "kids." None of them attend primary school, or indeed any school. I think the exaggerating media mouthpieces could do with a spell back in school, the bleedin' halfwits.
Anyhow, let's celebrate this victory nonetheless. Even Eden Hazard helped himself to a goal, albeit he merely passed his direct free kick into the corner of a net that was virtually vacated by their hapless goalkeeper. Hazard had earlier crossed for Costa's headed goal whilst putting Willian clean through for our second shortly after the interval. Gary Cahill also managed to fire home through the body of Caballero after another cross from hot and cold Hazard. I have to say, speaking as a former goalie, that if a goalkeeper is unsighted, then it is his responsibility to move so that he can see the action better. Finally, the cherry on the cake was a bizarre back header from young Traore. The "kid" is starting to find the net with regularity, which will do wonders for his confidence. He is one player who doesn't have to go back to school.
Next on the horizon is a Premiership trip to our bogey team, Southampton. I think that we can accurately measure the extent of Chelsea's progress or otherwise when we do battle on the south coast on Saturday afternoon. Unlike some of our recent opponents, the Saints will be far from a pushover. A win at their place might convince old sceptics comme moi that Hiddink is reviving Chelsea after all.
