Coutinho scores

This was billed as a pivotal match in the turbulent career of Jose Mourinho, and the special needs one marked the occasion by dropping Cesc Fabregas. As a consequence, his team went into battle without the mdifield duo of Fabregas and Matic who dominated proceedings twelve months ago. How times have changed - and fast! We started with Mikel and Ramires, the same two duds who Ancelotti fielded back in 2010-11 when we fell away badly then as well. The Chelsea brains trust, I'm afraid, are slow learners.

True, Ramires headed the beleaguered hosts into an early lead. However, instead of kicking on from there, we slipped back into clinging onto one-nil leads mode - a familiar Mourinho tactic. Then when we go behind, he hurls on an extra striker. The man is so predictable and completely impotent. You reap what you sow, and Liverfools made fools of the home team. Chelsea had three Brazilians on the field, not counting the substitute Kenedy, and they were all eclipsed by their compatriot, Coutinho.

I hope that Jose doesn't pull wool over his own eyes by suggesting that his team made the critics look silly again. I'm sorry Jose but you're the only one who is looking silly. Of course, his legion of admirers will suffer him no matter what. They have fallen so far under his spell that they now believe that Mourinho is Chelsea. No one person is greater than the club, and that means the struggling manager too. A tattooed tosser called Danny Abramik called me a moron on Facepuke for daring to pour scorn on Mourinho. It seems that it's wrong to criticise Jose who will never take Chelsea to a European final, yet the seemingly less cosmic Grant, Benitez, and Di Matteo all took the Blues to a European final.

All I can say is that once upon a time, Chelsea had a 'dull' manager Dave Sexton, in charge of a charismatic, exciting team. Now we have a charismatic, exciting manager in control of a dull team. I know which scenario that I much prefer. Unfortunately most Chelsea supporters are more interested in supporting the ineffective manager at the expense of supporting the club and the team. Well, he's dragged us back to mid-table mediocrity, and sexy football has long since vanished from Stamford Bridge. At least when Chelsea were marooned in mid-table, they were capable of the occasional outpouring of excellence. The current team are just not even capable of that. They're not very good - and neither is the once-successful manager.
