Chris Hughton has announced his team for today's game against Plymouth Argyle. Alan Smith slots straight back in to captain the side after his 1 match suspension, forcing Nicky Butt onto the bench. Lovenkrands starts whilst new signing Khizanishvili starts on the bench.

Barton's been awful the last few matches. Why is he in the spot instead of Guthrie or Ryan Taylor? I'm okay with the rest of it.

Agreed. Barton is a cancer on this squad. It disappoints me that Hughton keeps selecting him, but I guess that speaks to our lack of depth.
