Brummie-boy Carter is set to make a £1.8m switch after falling down the St Andrew’s pecking order, and Baggies boss Bryan Robson will be delighted to get the 21-year-old midfielder after missing out with a £4.5m bid for Spurs striker Fredi Kanoute.
Bryan Robson has been promised big funds after avoiding the relegation battle.
