Johnathan Greening has handed Baggies a huge boost by today claiming that he will not be leaving the club even if relegated. Greening, who surely has to be one of the main front runners for 'player of the year', today said that he intends to see out his 4-year crontract with the Baggies Greening, who joined from Middlesbrough in the summer for £1.25million, told the official website: "The players we have are too good for the Championship.

"I would be willing to be part of that side. I signed for four years and unless the club get a bid, accept it and let me speak to anyone then I am here for the full four years.

"If we go down I will stay to help this club get back up.

"It would be soul-destroying to get relegated - I certainly don't want that on my CV - but I still firmly believe we can make up the ground over the next four games or so, with a bit of luck."

"There are a number of reasons why it hasn't gone to plan," said Greening

"The start of the season with Gary Megson - would he go, would he stay? That didn't help us.

"He then fell out with a lot of players and wouldn't let them train with the first-team, that certainly didn't help our first 12 games or so.

"It's always going to take a new manager time to settle down and put his ideas across. It took a while for Bryan Robson and it's now coming together.

"Now the lads are buzzing, looking forward to coming into training whereas they probably weren't under Gary Megson.

"It's just a shame it wasn't like that from the start of the season because we all firmly believe we can turn this season around."
