Kanu: "Im Staying Put"

Star striker Kanu today squashed all rumours of him leaving in the January by insisting that he is happy at the Hawthorns. Kanu had been linked with a move back to his old club Ajax, but he said that he has a "job to do of keeping Albion in the Premiership" Kanu said: "I will remain at Albion. I am the captain and I have a lot of things on my shoulders,"

"I am not going to pull out. I am going to carry on and help Albion survive in The Premiership.

"I have enjoyed the experience since joining Albion - I was fully aware of where the club stand.

"I am now playing every game and that is a big bonus for me.

"That is why I joined Albion - to play football and prove a lot of teams wrong.

"My aim is to see that the club survive and I believe we will be able to do that.

"It's a new ball game but it is good how I am handling the situation.

"The luck is not on our side and we are not scoring as often as we should.

"When this changes we will see a big improvement as there is a very good spirit in the team."
