Recently departed Baggie Scott Dobie today explained just why he left Albion. Dobie felt that "he done all he could" in order to hold down a regular first-team spot. 'Dobes' today said: "A few of the lads told me to hold out because a new manager was coming in, but I really couldn't see things changing. I did the best I could, but now I am 26 and I feel I want to be kicking on and making more of an impression.

"It was like I was hitting my head against a brick wall. No matter how well I played or how well I did in training, I didn't feel as though I was going to get a chance.

"I got one game at Everton on August 28 and I scored, but since then I haven't really been involved."
