Wigan boss Paul Jewell today rubbished reports linking him with the vacant managers position at the Hawthorns by declaring ""I've got a job to do here and I'm staying." Reports yesterday were suggesting that former England coach Glenn Hoddle would be taking charge of the Baggies, but it has emerged that he is "stalling" on the offer.

This morning, various newspapers were suggesting that former Bradford boss Paul Jewell had been officially approached by Baggies chairman Jeremy Peace. However, Jewell denied that their had been any approach: "I don't know much about it. I have not had any contact with West Bromwich Albion,"

"I'm happy at Wigan Athletic right now. I am here to do a job, and I have not heard about any approach." Jewell told BBC Sport
