West Brom have begun talks with Newcastle United striker Lomano Tresor Lua-Lua according to the players agent.
A fee of around £2 million is believed to have already been accepted by Newcastle for the Democratic Republic of Congo international.
Lua-Lua's agent today told the Evening Mail "We've had the green light from Newcastle and are now having provisional discussions with West Brom,"
Megson has been a long-time admirer of Lua-Lua, and even tried to loan the striker in the 2001/2002 season after the injury of Jason Roberts left Megson with only two available strikers.
Lua-Lua spent the last half of the season on loan to Harry Redknapp's Portsmouth where he scored 4 goals in 15 games, and help keep Pompey in the Premiership.
In his Newcastle career, he has managed to bag a total of 7 goals in 18 starts.
