Lee Hughes his the back of the net two times in a minuete against burnley but before that he hadn't scored a league goal fo albion since returning from Coventry. The main question on all Albion fans heads is 'Is the Lee we used to know and love back?' Well two goals in a minuet at The Hawthorns in front of all the Viewers watching Sky must have give him a big boost in his confidence.

Hughes didn't score once in the premier league last year and had only scored two goals including cup games and friendlys since his return before he came on for Saturdays match with Burnley.

"Since he came back it's been a bit stop-start for Lee as regards getting in the team,” said Megson after the 4-1 thrashing of Burnley.

Megson went on to say:

"Last season in the Premiership he couldn't have done much more - it just didn't go for him.

"But his first goal was marvellous. It really was top class. It wasn't thrashed in, it was placed in the top corner like we've seen Lee do time and time again in the past.

"After that you saw the real Lee Hughes. His confidence was up and he was direct.”

Watford next up for albion and if Hughes can get another couple of goals there he could end up top of the 'first division goal scorers' table.

Megson now has alot of competition from players for the striker position with Hulse and Dobie who were already on good form. Hughes who bagged two on saturday. Dichio who is finding it hard and Roberts who has handed in a Transfer Request.
