Another poor performance tonight by Megson's men but this time there was no Dobie double to help save us. 3,412 fans of both Wrexham and Albion watched Dennis Smith's men Out play albion. Two good things to come out of tonight's game but nothing else. Jason Koumas and Scott Dobie both with good 1st half performances but couldn't do it again in the next 45 minuets.
Dobie started just as he finished against Kidderminster Harriers on Saturday at Aggbrough as he got past Lawrence and whipped a low cross in but before Lee Hughes could get onto it Former Albion keeper Andy Dibble got hold of the ball and kept it in his hands.
It was all Albion until the 21st minute when Wrexham had their first chance of the game. It came from a corner where Chris Armstrong headed the ball narrowly over.
It was Hughes with Albion's next chance who took a shot from 25 yards out only to see it skim the side post and go out for a goal kick.
Next it was Dobie's turn who Was given the ball from Koumas who won it in Midfield another effort from 25 yard's only this time to it bounce of the crossbar.
Albion who also had the next chance on goal but this time it was at the other end when Phil Gilchrist Header the ball from Darren Feruson's corner but Hoult pulled of a save to take Albion in still level at half time.
Wrexham came out in the second half looking like they wanted to win and within two minute's they had Hoult busy again as he was a full stretch to save a long range shot from Matty Crowell.
The next Wrexham chance was from a little closer. Two yards out when somehow Lawrence managed not to put the ball past Hoult in the Albion goal.
Seven minute's into the second half the deadlock was broken and the goal went the same way as the second half possession. Lawrence desperate not to make it two easy misses in the space of a few minute's put away the ball three yards out and gave the welsh side the 1-0 lead they deserved.
Still Albion hadn't had a chance in the second half when Bernt Haas miss timed a back pass to have the ball intercepted by Llewellyn but he couldn't put the ball in the back of the empty net from the tight angle.
In the 71st Minute the welsh took a 2-0 lead. This time it was Llewellyn who wasn't going to miss another chance headed in an accurate cross from Paul Edwards.
New boy James O'Conner nearly got Albion back in the game with Albion first chance of the half when Wrexham Keeper Paul Whitfield was forced to stop a over head kick which came from a Koumas Free Kick. Whitfield was also equal to O'Conners rebound header.
Wrexham had the last chance of the match when Shaun Holmes fired in a hard hit left foot shot from far out which beat Hoult but went wide of the post.
