Greening lastest casualty on growing injury list

West Brom Captain Jonathan Greening looks set to spend a spell on the sidelines after suffering a knee injury during the first half of the FA Cup tie between the Baggies and Burnley on Saturday. The midfielder has hurt his medial ligament, and will be sent for a scan to assess the damage later on today.

Until the seriousness of the injury is determined the club cannot comment on how long Greening is likely to be missing for.  But manager Tony Mowbray has already commented that he expects the 30 year old to be out for between 2-3 weeks at best.

A longer injury spell would come as even more of a blow to bottom placed side West Brom, who have done well over the last few weeks making up ground on the teams in front of them.  Albion already have a whole host of players missing through injury, including Ryan Donk – another casualty of Saturday’s 2-2 draw with Burnley at the Hawthorns.  That takes Albion’s injury list to 11 regular squad members.
