Albion reduce season ticket prices for a 2nd year

Could we all just pause and take a breath for a second to appreciate what is truly a step forward in relationships between fans and their football clubs. Congratulations Mr Jeremy Peace. Personally, I don’t see how anyone could fail to admire the policy adopted by West Brom yesterday as they announced next season’s ticket prices. Are fans finally getting a better deal?
For the majority of us this answer is still no. But for Baggies fans the club have stretched themselves once again to get back to basics and most of all the heart of the community. Nothing has grieved me more this season than having to compare Wolves against Albion constantly. In fact, this has little to do with local rivalry as it has become widely accepted that the Baggies are the measuring stick for most teams in this division this year.
Just as a point of reference, my ‘early bird’ season ticket, which Wolves so generously froze the price of in 2004, was in fact frozen at Premiership prices. Which means that progressively over the last 4 years, our decaying style of football and opposition amongst the likes of Scunthorpe, Colchester and Blackpool (No disrespect intended) is actually setting me back the same amount of pennies as watching the likes of Arsenal, Manchester United and Liverpool.
Albion on the other hand are to be congratulated. They have reduced their season ticket prices for a second year, implementing an 11% decrease this year, taking the overall saving to a credible 31% over 24 months. Baggies fans have until the end of April to snap up the deal, which incredibly will apply even if they win promotion to the Premier League.
This means that Albion fans can effectively experience up to ten free games based on match day ticket prices, and an adult ticket will start from just £299. Add to this the gestures of free away travel for selective fixtures and it is clear to see that West Bromwich Albion are in touch with the hearts and minds of its supporters. Maybe Wolves and other clubs could take example from this gratitude for loyal supporters, instead of just trying to engage our wallets and credit cards in a relationship.

the last time wolves rewarded fans was when we played Millwall on a friday night and they gave Wolves fans free travel and that was only because it was on tv!
