Riga finding it tough

Jose Riga has finally broken his summer silence yesterday evening taking part in SkySports championship preview. Riga joined the club in the summer, replacing caretaker Barry Fergurson as manager. Upon arriving he found an uphill task awaited him and the Belgian started to get to work rebuilding the entire club from top to bottom. A stand off then emerged between the chairman and the manager and although some movement has been made in the transfer market, there are signs Jose isn't happy.

Riga has so far signed around elleven additional players with two to three more likely to be confirmed later today. But it would seem many of those signed weren't his first choice he said "I don't have, certainly not the targets I was hoping for".

The tangerines preseason has been rocked by postponements first a preseason tour of Spain was cancelled followed by a friendly at Alferton. Blackpool have only had two friendlies which both featured a high number of trialists. "Every manager hopes to have a normalpre-season preparations - we didn't have (that)" Riga said before later adding "recruitment is far to be finished. We are looking still for players" 

With no pre-season behind his team, it's quite clear now his side face a game of catch up. He said "we have to have clear ideas from the beginning and try to involve each player day by day." 

"It's not ideal situation, but we must be competitive".

Jose was asked about his relationship with chairman Karl Oyston on the matter he said "he has his own view, I have my own view. I hope at the end; the club and the fans get what they deserve" He added "the main focus isto give to the fans what they deserve. They were four years ago in premier league. That's means there is potential".
