Our dearly beloved ex-wife José Mourinho was apparently provoked into an off-field brawl immediately after young Barkley grabbed a precious equaliser. This unsavoury incident stole the headlines which was much regrettable, as the action on the field was equally entertaining. This was one of those matches which either team could have won and either team could have lost, and with that in mind, a draw was probably a fair result. Of course a bombastic Mourinho insisted that his team dominated and should have won. Quite frankly, when you concede two goals, it's hard to claim that you deserved to win.

This dramatic encounter was a reminder that Chelsea lack a cutting edge, in so far as Morata doesn't look convincing, while No Goals Giroud is even less likely to score. The Blues instead had to rely upon a bullet header by Rudiger from a corner kick and from an eleventh hour header from his partner David Luiz which created the leveller. Chelsea played quite well (in patches) and can take some comfort from remaining one of three teams that are still unbeaten in the Premier League. However Tottenham Hotspur have drawn level with Chelsea on points, in spite of two league defeats. This clearly demonstrates that lots of draws might prolong an unbeaten run but they are still a cause for concern. Hopefully Sarri's talented team can return to winning ways next Sunday at Burnley, because only a multitude of wins will be necessary to claim the Premier League top prize in May.
