Moses Scores!

It was hard to imagine that today's awful opposition were convincing champions of the Premiership five months previously. Perhaps they are just not the same without the missing Mahrez and Kante. Of course the latter dominated the proceedings against his former club, playing like a 2016 version of Claude Makalele. Even his midfield accomplice Nemanja Matic had quite a good match too, assisting in the second goal. Mind you, there was nobody in the Chelsea eleven who could attract criticism on this occasion.

Pedro is a trier, who always plays with a smile on his face, while Moses, enjoying a rich vein of form, simply made a mockery of the absurd decision to thrust him out on loan over the last couple of seasons. The inimitable David Luiz meanwhile contrived to hit the post for both teams, producing two excellent first half free kicks, while also finding his team's woodwork in the second half when stopping a cross reaching a poised Jamie Vardy.

Elsewhere, Costa helped the team to an early lead when he found acres of space inside the penalty area from our first corner kick. However, the red hot marksman then shot himself in the foot by engaging in a futile stand off with his manager when he appeared to be signalling his intent to be replaced. Such a pity that he should spoil his otherwise well-behaved performance with this silly piece of theatre.

Anyhow, my man of the match has to be the manager whose reactions to every attempt at goal are worth admission fee alone for their sheer comedic value.

Now Conte must prepare to do battle with the man with a thousand excuses, Mr Mourinho. Jose of course always sets his teams up not to lose, so we can expect a much stiffer test on Sunday afternoon. It's contests against the likes of ManUre that will represent a truer picture of our Premiership credentials and progress than easy wins against a surprisingly weak Leicester City.
