A Nice Start!

Conte Goes Wild!

Well Chelsea have maintained their fine record on the first weekend of the Premiership, unlike our dear friends at Arsenic. I did kind of fear the worst when our new supremo proceeded to name ten players who were an integral part of the team that stuttered to tenth last year. Only newbie Monsieur Kante was included as the token fresh face. Anyhow, I need not have feared. The hapless Hammers, bless 'em, were a pale imitation of the team from last season. What with Leicester losing too, maybe the underdogs have had their day, and normal business will resume.

Anyhow, West Ham offered very little. Maybe they are saving themselves for their Europa League matches against various villages from eastern Europe. The Blues could do nothing else except produce wave upon wave of attacks, of varying quality.

Eventually, at the start of the second half, the inevitable happened. It came courtesy of our lovely visitors donating a penalty which was really sweet of them. The exceptional Hazard duly obliged from the spot. Then Dirty Sheets Courtois found himself picking the ball out of the net from a rare Hammers invasion, though to be fair to the big Belgian numpty, he had little chance. Thereafter, we resolved to restore the lead, and along pops the well-behaved Costa to score shortly before the end. Don't you just love late winners? I certainly do. Well it was good to find one London club who at least managed to make it to the second weekend with maximum points.
